Disadvantages of the use of fingerprint readers in organizations

While using a fingerprint reader within a an organization has many advantages, it is also important to consider all of the disadvantages that follow.

First of it is important to notice that this product is not fit for all types of organizations and workplaces. If these scanners are used on doors or computers to restrict access it might come as an inconvenience in work environments where personnel needs to be wearing gloves at all times.
Also, since the key to unlocking the device is the direct use of a fingertip, the hand may have come in contact previously with a substance ( hand cream or water) that might make it difficult to recognize the print. Errors like this, that might occur often, can be quite frustrating and eventually time consuming.

Another disadvantage is the fact that this technology is extremely sensitive and cheaper components might often be used in its construction. This might lead to denied access to authorized personal due to poor manufacturing.
