The use of Blogs

Basically defined a blog is a type of website that is most of the times maintained by an individual with constant postings of news, events, photos etc. Over the years the use of blogs has exploded, and it has become more and more popular.
Many organizations now turn to blogs. They might use them internally to promote communication and culture within the company itself ( it has proven to be more efficient in the sens that posts are short, and there is no need to upload huge documents), or they might be used externally, for marketing, branding and public relations purposes.

Advantages of Blogs within organizations:
  • Employees and consumers are better informed of any of the organization's objectives and activities. This can of course help the organization in the long-run, it will maintain a good relationship with consumers.
  • Blogs can be an excellent way of sharing information within the organization, it is a cheap and efficient manner of keeping good communication.
  • Blogs can help companies get constant feedback, aiding them in the amelioration of their company, and once again helping them maintain good ties with customers.
  • Blogs can profile the talent of the writer, showing that the orginization has a wide array of people working with them
Disadvantages of Blogs within organizations:
  • Blogs might seem like a waste of time and energy when the writers lack of interesting things to say, and are unable to keep a constant flow of ideas, with regular updates.
  • Although blogs might seem like a cheap strategy to maintain a good relationship with customers, they might become costly in the sens that they become extremely time consuming.
